Weekly match report 17/10/2017

Hello all and welcome to the match report for games played on 17/10/2017.

in the 501 league it was the turn of the maelgwyn B to have their blank night.

First match listed was the league leaders the Conway comrades at home to the Neville A. On paper it looked like a big win for the comrades running out 8-2 winners but I have been assured it was a much closer game than stated. Star of the night was bryn with an 18 dart leg.

Next game out of the bag was the penrhynside derby , old hall against the penrhyn arms. With a player like rob Sumbland missing the arms managed to pull off a 6-4 win largely due to Sam Bradley playing and winning twice.

Neville B v RAOB B, this sounds like the game of the night with the teams sharing the spoils at 5-5 both very dangerous teams as the RAOB A found out last week against mike and his team of warriors. Who let them off with a draw. Notable contributions lee Harris with a 106 checkout and tom parry with a 17 dart leg.

next we have the RAOB A v Bron , history told us it would be a tough night ahead as our games against the bron have always been tense matches. However on this occasion the home team ran out 10-0 winners and only dropped one leg, it wasn’t as clear cut as it looked.

Last game in the league was maelgwyn A v Pen golf club, now ordinarily this would be seen as a big win for the home team even with captain phil smith missing, however the lads from up the A55 went down in a battle 6-4 of which they won 2 of the doubles a fantastic effort. Notable contributions again from bob Wilson with an 18 dart leg and Jim and Syd with 17 dart legs.

Round the board

labour club where on their blank night.

first game out was the gang from west shore against Conway comrades B with the west shore lads running out 7-2 winners.

alex pen v Pen y bryn A

a big win for the alex lads with a 9-0.

Pen y bryn C v cricket club.

a bad night all round for the pen y bryn saw them lose to the cricket club 8-1.

I am disappointed to write that I had no results or result cards from the old Whitehorse v cross keys and kings arms v townhouse.

No games being played on 31 /10 and an upcoming event on the 14/11 is the charity pairs. Please try and support this event as the last couple have been pretty poor. It’s an important event for the league and would be greatly appreciated if as many as possible could turn up for it.

Thanks for reading my diatribe and hope it’s been enjoyable.
