Kings lads having a fantastic season and it continued on Tuesday Steve eardley going down 2-0 to rob Thorpe Gary Roberts losing in the decider 2-1 Bertie losing 0-2 against Dave Roberts Paul Eastwood losing 2-0 to league leader Brian beacher. Ken lea losing 0-2 to Ian Adamson and Ian eardley going down 0-2 to Mike williams. Kings only dropping 2 legs on their way to a 9-0 away win. Fantastic win. Cricket club v Virginia next And a welcome back to Peter Kearney playing his first match in a long while.. Up first was Chris hornickle winning 2-1 Paul Thornton keeping his run of form going with a 2-0 win over Paul Bourne. Andy Christian up next and securing a tight 2-1 win over Phil Jones. The return of Peter Kearney wasn’t the happiest with him losing 1-2 to Craig Palmer. John Gregory with a 2-0 win over owain Jones and Tom Thornton the same result against Chrissy Webb helped secure a 7-2 home win. Last game in the RTB, saw cross keys llandudno take on the pen y Bryn B Liz Maguire on first and losing 0-2 to efion Williams Andy Constantine on at 2 and the same result against Kyle Jones 0-2 Simon Kearney saw Simon losing 0-2 to Carl Roberts Gaz Evans losing by the odd leg 1-2 to Steve Roberts Phil Kearney was edged out 1-2 to cain Jones and Mike Jones the only winner for the home team with a 2-1 win against Sara Jones, cracking away win for the pen y Bryn B 8-1 On the night. That rounds off the RTB.
On to the 501 league now. A blank night for maelgwyn A this week. First game up and we have pen golf A against the RAOB B, iwan Williams on first against JJ with iwan securing a 2-0 win Ian Jones winning a close one against Tony anderton 2-1 Unbeaten Paul eccles in at 3 and continuing his fine form 2-0 against Alan Williams. Keith Williams up next and securing a 2-1 win against Mitch Morgan. A welcome back to Dan Rhodes, but going down 2-1 against Dave Nolan with a brilliant 101 finish by dave. Rob Miller v Danny Owen in the next to last with Rob winning 2-0, hopefully just an off night for Danny. Last singles saw Rob Benjamin going down 1-2 to Mike williams. A 7-3 home win overall. A trip up the a55 next to the Alex pen who took on the maelgwyn B. First game saw Rob Jones winning 2-0 against McCauley. Kirsty Hillman unlucky losing 0-2 to John Evans. Yahya kocha losing by the same score to Bob Wilson. Armon Owen getting things back to level with a 2-0 win. The Alex then winning the next 3 with wins for Edward Thomas,, 2-0 against Curtis, Edwin 2-1 against Glyn chambers and Paul birchall winning 2-0 against James mason. Overall result after the doubles 6-4 to the Alex. Last game of the night was a cracker as the RAOB A took on a resurgent Conway comrades. First on YET again was Richie protheroe, I think that’s 4/5 on first now for Richie,, against dilwyn with Richie winning 2-0, and a 19 dart leg also, swin up next and despite a 180 from swin, it was mike who edged a good game 1-2. Gary black next against Chris Jones and despite a 180 from Chris it was Gary who just edged it 2-1. Carl up next against his bogeyman Bryn Hughes, with Carl taking it 2-0 but was a close game. Andy hall up next against Steve wilmore, Andy struggling a bit despite a 180 going down 0-2. A welcome return for Brian tidswell who just saw off Neil Hughes 2-1. Last singles saw Andy Jones against gags Jones, both these players having a 180 each but it was gags who took the win 1-2. After the doubles a 5-5 draw which was a fair result overall. 5 x 180 on the night. Great game of darts. And with apologies I have just received a card from the RTB league. The cross keys penrhynside take on league leaders junction Labour club. First on Derek groves losing 2-0 to Richard Hughes. Robin Fitzpatrick losing 1-2 to Billy Hughes. The next 4 games ended 0-2 with Jamie Quinn beating John Brown, Barry Davies winning against Jim Richardson, Terry Quinn winning against Brian teesdale and completing a Quinn whitewash was Kevin winning against Gareth Davies. A good win for the Labour club 2-7 On the night. I hope you all like the longer report it’s designed that everyone gets a mention and to include recognition all in one go.
